| Seanet is a locally owned and operated internet service provider. Part of a three-member team responsible for all IT administration, maintenance, and engineering. My primary focus was server & service administration. Environment consists of a mixture of FreeBSD, BSD/OS, Solaris, Windows, UNIXWARE, NeXT, and Linux servers, with a gradual migration to FreeBSD when possible. Core responsibilities were mail (sendmail, postfix, qpopper, OpenWebmail), spam filtering (ModusGate), DNS (Bind 8 & 9), web (Apache, MySQL & PHP, FrontPage), and systems & network monitoring (Nagios). Installed Nagios server to supplement (and eventually supplant) existing monitoring solution. Created a dedicated secure log server primarily for customer service representative use. Set up a CVS mirror of FreeBSD sources for internal use. Implemented a Snort based NIDS system. Daily responsibilities also include handling customer spam filter, www, and dns related requests. | |
